Renga at An Tuireann Thursday 28th September

'A chance to write on walls': all day free event. To celebrate the arrival of the permanent collection of poetry books from the Scottish Poetry Library, Poet Ken Cockburn will co-ordinate a day of writing Renga. The event ties in with a graffiti exhibition at the gallery. Anyone can join in for any part of the day. So bring your puns and intuition and share in the experience of writing in the linked Japanese verse form.

E: info@antuireann.org.uk
can also refer to the poetry collection for inspiration. You can turn up during anytime of the day 10-4.30pm approx but it will help us a lot to organise the event if you can give an indication of when you are likely to come (morning or afternoon). Contact An Tuireann to 'book in your writing spot.' Aim to spend at least an hour with us on the day.

Cheryl Follon & Ian Stephen
Thursday 16th November 7.30pm
Tickets £5.00 £3.00 concessions. Tickets at the door.

Poetry & stories to kindle a long winter evening: Cheryl Follon writes ballads which dare you to hear them; the secrets of shared loves and lives. All Your Talk, her second book was published by Bloodaxe in 2004. Ian Stephen, poet, artist, storyteller and voyager has an exhibition with the artist Pat Law and musician Norman Chalmers at the Scottish Poetry Library: One Clear Line charts a journey to the Shiants. At times intimate, humourous and reflective, Ian and Cheryl sail close to the wind to find the story in the poem and the poem within the story.
